Concealed Weapon License Applications

Beginning 6/22/2016, individuals who wish to obtain or renew a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License may now submit their applications electronically at the Flagler Beach Branch Office of the Flagler County Tax Collector, located at 2525 Moody Blvd, Flagler Beach, between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30, Monday through Friday.
The Concealed Weapon License Application service provided at our Flagler Beach Branch Office is designed to allow an applicant to complete the entire application process quickly and conveniently, with one stop for pictures, fingerprinting and electronic filing of the application itself.
This fast track form of application service helps reduce the time it takes the Department of Agriculture to issue the license once the application arrives electronically in Tallahassee.
What should I bring with me to the Tax Collector’s office?
You should have with you the following items/documents when you arrive at our office:
- A picture ID (A driver license or State-issued ID card is acceptable).
- For changes to your name, please provide a copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court documentation.
- A copy of a training document or other certificate that confirms you are proficient with a firearm.
- Payment via cash, check or credit card.* Click here to view fees.
- If you have ever been arrested, you should bring certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you.
- If you are currently employed as a law enforcement officer, correctional officer or correctional probation officer with a Florida law enforcement agency, and you are applying as such, you will need to provide a copy of an official document stating that you are currently employed with that agency as such.
- If you are a retired law enforcement officer, correctional officer or correctional probation officer from a Florida law enforcement agency and you are applying as such, you will need to provide a copy of an official document that includes your date of retirement and the agency with which you retired. This does not extend to federal law enforcement or out-of-state law enforcement retirees.
- Active military personnel who want to apply for a concealed weapon license should include a copy of their Common Access Card or other form of official military identification with their application. The department will also accept a copy of service members' current orders as proof of active duty status.
- Honorably discharged veterans should submit a copy of their DD214 long form with their applications.
- If you are a U.S. citizen born outside of the United States, or if you are a permanent legal resident, you will need to bring official documentation with you that confirms your status of legal presence (for example, U.S. passport/certificate of naturalization for U.S. citizens, or green card for permanent legal residents).
What will happen once I arrive at your office?
First, one of our staff members will direct you to a computer station where you will complete an on-line application form (please note that you do not need to complete an application form in advance of your appointment.)
When finished, your application will be reviewed for completeness. The final steps will be to take your photograph and electronically scan your fingerprints.
How long will it take to do this?
The average time to complete the entire process for an original application is 30 minutes. A renewal takes about 10-20 minutes.

* There will be a fee charged for payment by debit ($1.50) or credit card ($2.00 or 2.35%, whichever is greater). This fee is not retained by the Tax Collector's Office.
